1 down, 3 to go

Today was big (and long) day. And not to mention totally draining. Let me fill you in:

One night back in October or November (I don't remember), when our internet wasn't working my dad and I went over to starbucks to steal their internet so I could send in applications to three California State colleges. That night I applied to San Diego, Sonoma and Sacramento State (yes... all "S's"). At the time I thought those were the only ones I was interested in, but it turned out there was one more waiting for me to apply.

About a month ago I got an email from Seattle Pacific University saying they were intersted in me applying and thought I would
"benefit from from our combination of vital scholarship and thoughtful faith, close faculty-student interaction, and the opportunity to influence the world for good..."
I know it wasn't personally written for me, but it still got me thinking "maybe I should just apply and see what happens." So that stuck in the back of my mind for about a month or so, and then just last week I got another email from them still wanting me to apply and saying that I only had two weeks left to do so. And that got me thinking A LOT more, and finally I decided to apply. Just to keep my options open and secretly hoping maybe it will give me the opportunity to be in Seattle again.

After all that, today was the day I finally applied to SPU. Although it literally took me all day and drained the heck out of me, I am glad I did it. I have now successfully applied to FOUR colleges and I am still waiting to hear back from three. Yes, if you read that right it means I already heard back from one...

Today I received a letter from Sonoma State congratulating me on my acceptance to their college. My first one. So now I have 1 down and 3 to go (hopefully!)

Also, to add to my accomplishments today, not only did I apply for a college as well as get accepted to one, I also completed the FAFSA in hopes to get some good financial aid. Pretty much today was a big day for college stuff. I'm realizing that it's getting closer and closer and definitely starting to feel more real now. Although right now it's stressful, scary, exciting, challenging, confusing, and so many more mixed emtions... I know it will all work out and be rewarding in the end.

and now I am going to bed... goodnight!
