Psalm 66

"Come and listen, all you who fear God;
Let me tell you what he has done for me.
I cried out to him with my mouth,
his praise was on my tongue.
If I had cherished sin in my hear,
the Lord would not have listened;
but God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer.
Praise be to God,
who has not rejected my prayer
or withheld me from his love!"

This morning I went to Vintage Faith Church with the Coverts. And instead of going into the main meeting, this time I went with Taylor and Claire up to their youth group. We talked a little bit about pain and suffering, their youth pastor shared this verse, and it stuck with me.

As we split into small groups, Taylor and I were talking with one of the leaders and I realized a few things. That even though I know it, I need to constantly remind myself that God is always there, listening to my every cry and prayer. Whether I can feel his presence or hear his voice or not. He's always there. And even though it may seem like he's not listening to me or answering me, I know he is, just on his own time... not mine.

God works in mysterious ways. His answers aren't always obvious, and they don't always happen right away (even though I wish they would). That's where faith and patience comes in.

He has heard my voice, has not rejected my prayer, and has not withheld his love from me. And for that I am thankful.
